Don t just assume that if the path is clear that the sensors are ok.
Garage door will open but not close with remote.
This also disables any remotes or wireless keypads.
Hopefully after you read this you won t have the same problem in the future.
Clutter or obstructions that block the sensor are the first problems to look for if your door won t close or in extreme cases open at all.
Sometimes when a garage door won t open or close it does not actually mean there is anything wrong with the door your remote or even one of the opener assembly parts.
This problem bugged me for several months.
One sends a beam of infra red light to the other.
The issue could all boil down to the simple goof of a disconnected motor.
The garage door may attempt to go down but will come right back up and the overhead light on the garage door opener will blink.
This is one of the sensors.
Try using your remote to open or close your door to determine if the reprogramming was successful.
Both remote control openers would open the door but would not close it unless you were standing right underneath the opener.
If your garage door opens ok but won t close then it s possible the safety reversing sensors are not correctly aligned.
First check the sensor lights.
If the beam is broken or the sensors are misaligned the sensor light s will go off and subsequently tell the operator not close the door.
Then within 30 seconds hold the button on your remote for three seconds or until garage door opener s lights flash or the led light on your opener blinks.
I read about the led bulbs causing some sort of interference and remembered that was what i had in my opener.
If anything interrupts this beam of light the garage door will not close and the ceiling light on the opener mechanism will flash as mentioned in the previous step.
